All our Audiology clinics are led by Fully Qualified Audiologists with a minimum of 5 years’ experience and we do not use Hearing Care Assistants to provide our micro suction wax removal services.
Our Audiology service in Fleet is run by one of our Senior Audiologists, Claire Saywell.
Claire is a qualified Audiologist with over 19 years’ experience and is trained and qualified in micro-suction wax removal.
Price for our service is £75 (for either one or two ears), if no earwax is found on examination or we can’t remove it and need you to come back our consultation fee is just £20 which is deducted when wax is removed.
We advise the use of olive oil 5-7 days prior to your appointment (we recommend Earol which we have stock in our practice)
We use hospital grade micro-suction units with either ENT microscope or head loupes.
Video otoscopy available, so as part of the consultation we will take a picture of the ear canal before the procedure and after.

Ear wax is part of our body's natural defence system. It helps to prevent infections of the ear and catches foreign objects which may enter the ear such as dust or debris.

Small amounts of ear wax are usually fine and maintain a healthy ear canal; A larger build-up can lead to the ear being blocked, which leads to reduced hearing.
Some common symptoms of excessive ear wax are pain, itching of the ear, ringing and hearing loss.
How Ear Wax Removal in Fleet can benefit you
To avoid long term damage to the ear, wax removal should not be attempted at home. Usually this leads to pushing the ear wax further into the ear canal, leading to more hearing loss and pain, and making it more difficult to remove. Avoid self-made ear wax removal methods at all costs !
