100% effective, pain-free ear wax removal performed by our experienced audiologists

Excessive ear wax affects 1 in 15 people in the UK. It is part of our body's natural defence system and is good in moderation as it can help to prevent infections of the ear and catch foreign objects but excessive build up can lead to the ear becoming blocked and irritated. Common symptoms of excessive ear wax are pain, itching of the ear, ringing, feeling bunged up and hearing loss. WE CAN HELP! Get your ear wax removed by a professional audiologist today!

To avoid long term damage to the ear, it is recommended that wax removal should not be attempted by yourself. This can compact the wax deeper into the ear canal, potentially causing further hearing loss and pain, whilst also making it more difficult to remove. Avoid self-made ear wax removal methods at all costs!

Your appointment

What to expect at your appointment

Every clinic has its own way of doing things, and Gloucester Ear Better Wax Removal will talk you through theirs. This is how a typical ear wax removal appointment goes.

Before you go

Some clinics suggest softening the wax with olive oil drops for a few days first, so ask when you book. Mention any ear surgery, a perforated eardrum or grommets.
A look inside your ears

The clinician asks about your symptoms, then checks both ears with an otoscope or a microscope before deciding how to remove the wax.
The removal

Microsuction is noisy but rarely painful. Some clinics use warm-water irrigation or a small instrument instead. Allow around half an hour.
Afterwards

Most people hear more clearly straight away. Brief dizziness or a little soreness usually settles quickly. Get help if you have pain, discharge, bleeding or worse hearing.
